What was the cause of death for TUDN sports commentator André Marín

On the morning of September 16, journalist David Faitelson confirmed the passing of his colleague, André Marín, a sports commentator for TUDN, at the age of 52. Marín had stepped back from his role in Liga MX analysis due to health issues a few months earlier.

In 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic, Marín contracted a bacterial infection caused by Clostridium Difficile, which led to severe symptoms such as diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, and fever. This infection severely damaged his lung tissue, necessitating a double lung transplant on September 8, a procedure that initially seemed successful.

Despite the surgery, Marín's condition remained critical, and he stayed hospitalized, away from public view. His colleagues at Televisa-Univision announced that his death was due to complications during his recovery from the surgery.

David Faitelson expressed his sorrow, stating, "Today is a truly sad day for all of us who work at MVS at this station. André Marín passed away at the age of 52 this morning. He fought until the end against an illness that had been worsening since the pandemic. He received a lung transplant because he kept fighting, but he was ultimately defeated by a terrible illness. May he rest in peace".
